Here I show-and-tell some more fun and random experiences of my life :)
Mahlerthon at Walt Disney Concert Hall (03/02/2025)
During Winter 2025, UCLA Philharmonia, along with USC Thornton and Colburn, was invited to perform a Mahler Symphony as part of the LA Phil’s Mahlerthon event. Very fortunate enough to be a first violinist for Mahler 6 (big hammer included).
Southern California AI Research Showcase 2025 (SAIRS) (4/19/2025)
My friend Helen and I presented some of our recent work in multi-agent multi-armed bandits at a UCLA AI conference. This was my first poster presentation (still shocked at how much these posters cost…) and talking for hours straight was exhausting. However, it was great to talk with people from CS faculty here to incoming UCLA freshmen! I hope they found our work at least an \(\epsilon\) margin from boring. Edit: We won the poster competition!
Economics Board of Visitors Meeting (4/28/2025)
These past two quarters, I’ve been lucky enough to be funded by the UCLA Economics Board of Visitors’ Economics Research Fellowship. Through this program, I’ve conducted research with Professor Till von Wachter and the California Policy Lab on the Unemployment Insurance program, and got to present a snapshot of my work to the Board this afternoon. I’ve met some really cool people through this program and learned a lot more about the different paths one can take economics in :)
